This is what you would expect 3 weeks prior to a competition. Check out the training 2 months prior to a competition. The bulk of it is AT work with VO2Max from 65-90% (this corresponds to an HR of between 80-95% max) with one high intensity session.
What I found interesting was/is the intensity of their easy sessions (65% VO2max) which you can only do if you are well trained, have been doing this volume for a long time and are young
However, this is still in line with what I would expect for a balanced program.
