With V90/V92 the way the PM3 handles intervals has changed. There is no option to make it work the way V88 and below worked.

How does it now work, exactly? The C2 site just says you now have a "2 second grace period" after the end of the rest interval. Within that time, does the PM3 now record your first pull the same as a PM2 would have?

Well then, would it not seem a sensible option to eliminate any “non fairness” if we have the ability to do so? rather than adding to them.

Sir P

The point is that any additional "non fairness" pales into insignificance beside all the other factors. Besides, if a PM3 gives a short person a little advantage compared to a tall person using a PM2, that actually goes a very small way to levelling the playing field between those two people.

Supposing a short person uses a PM2?

For the record:

SirP - Sub7's challenge choice decision has been made. The best plan for now is probably to wait for Sub7 to come up with their comprehensive proposal. Hopefully they will have an FAQ to answer any questions that might be raised about the challenge. :)

Anyone who thinks it's a problem to row the rugby test using a PM2 monitor you're welcome to come around to my house sometime during March and do it on my model D. Just send me a PM and we can arrange a time.

I looked back in my training diary the other day, and I've done the rugby test twice before, once on a model C with PM2, once on a model D with PM3. Made no difference at all to how it felt, and the rest periods are plenty long enough to reset the monitor between. It's a good training session, so there's no reason for anyone not to have a go.

Yet again you miss the point. Pete I am surprised at you.

The point is this. The challenge is different depending on what PM monitor you have. Nobody can dismiss that as a fact.

I don’t care who wants to row it, or how they want to row it, I don’t care who says this and who says that. The point is as stated above.

No, it's not different. You row the same set distances. You rest for the same set rest times. As others have said, either row it, or don't row it. The time for debate is over. You're just scared of intervals, that's all.

I think it's you that's missing the point, although I think it's deliberate.
