The CTC Thread

Re: The CTC Thread

A wee thought for the day.

I was wondering how and if the CTC needed a bit of a lift and wondered if it was worth thinking about doing and indivdual alongside the team (leaving the team one alone though.

Lets just say we have 8's and the top 4 heavies top two skinnies and top two ladies fill boat 1 (irrespective of team) and so on and so on. or maybe 5:3:1. Would more peeps get in a boat instead of the current team when you do get alot of boats left on shore

Dont know how this would work out in terms of the current numbers of Lwts Hwts and ladies.

Anyway could work in tandem, just a thought

The current challenge never ends until 12:00 GMT (GMT+1 in summer) on the first of the month.

September Challenge
We need to give each team the opportunity to select a challenge and, at the same time, reward teams for participation.

A simple formula is to add the number of months since a team's last challenge to the number of boats they have turned out during the month in which they win the right to select the piece. The results from June will be used to select September's challenger. No doubt, someone will put this right if I've counted wrongly.

First Column: Months from previous challenge, counting back from September '10
Second Column: Boats floated in June

24 + 01 = 25 - MAD
23 + 01 = 24 - AWL
20 + 02 = 22 - TAR
19 + 02 = 21 - DLC
17 + 02 = 19 - Rowpro
11 + 08 = 19 - FS
13 + 01 = 14 - Ind
05 + 06 = 11 - S7
09 + 01 = 10 - ETT
03 + 07 = 10 - FF
08 + 01 = 09 - PP
04 + 05 = 09 - ERG
07 + 01 = 08 - BB
01 + 04 = 05 - TO
30 + 00 = 30 - OW*
22 + 00 = 22 - AP*
18 + 00 = 18 - RAF*
15 + 00 = 15 - STW*
14 + 00 = 14 - AEGON*
06 + 00 = 06 - MMV*
02 + 00 = 02 - Eh*

* Teams may not select a challenge unless they have participated during that particular month.

Teams that have not participated recently (e.g. Bexhill, Shawbury) are not included.

For teams on equal points, the one with the longest gap to the previous challenge has been given precedence.

New teams e.g Rote 87 will be allowed to select a challenge once they have floated a boat during three consecutive months. There are no eligible new teams this month.

Would it be possible to change the colour <> letter combination for the Rowpro team, the dark blue and black letters is hard to see on some computers, white letters might be nice.

I've changed it to 47C8C8 for the background which is a bit easier on the eyes.

So that's the total time for 3000m not including the four minutes. I'll assume that's each 1K rep starting from a stationary flywheel and not from active rest and no stroke rate restrictions.

I happened to look at the december 2009 challenge and was surprised to see John Neufeldt as a Rowpro Rower, that season John rowed for the Forum Flyers team.
Is the software intended to retroactively change the results or is that a programming glitch?

If you change teams and keep your name, former results do also transfer.

I changed from AWL to RowPro and noticed that it affected all the previous competitions I had entered, so I changed the original ID back and added a new ID.

Another problem that I don't have, but some do, is that if you change from HW to LW or vice versa the historical results are affected. So people on the cusp usually have two IDs - one LW and one HW.
