I'd just like to add my congratulations on this pretty epic achievement Hywell, that fortitde to keep going despite everything is impressive. Well done on your new World Record, I doubt there are many that could do the same.

Now go and enjoy your wedding :)

Hywel I think you are just an outstanding athlete and human being - what a wonderful report, I actually felt quite sick just reading it! Hope the wedding goes brilliantly and your first dance isn't too painful! Congratulations mate - an exceptional world record and a brilliant achievement.

Best wishes

Have just watched the vid
Excellent stuff!
Amazing 1st 50k !!

Vid gives a real sense of the stuggle in the 2nd half.
Would probably get even more of a sense of it if there was sound on the vid (I couldn't get sound, myself)

Thought you might have upped the spm to 35spm for the last few strokes. I guess you really were tired not to manage that ;-)

Brilliant row Hywel. Well done on the world record.

Reading your blog about the first 5km row back in December and how 20 minutes seemed hard, it's amazing that you've got to where you are so quickly.

Best wishes for a great wedding day and happy marriage.

Regards,

Joe
