As for taking part I think not. Strictly a social spectator if any as I cannot compete with any of you big boys until perhaps we get to the pub :wink:
Seriously though, haven't been on the erg too much since the disaster at Boston.
I did pull one for me though and I did a sub 7 minute, rate restricted 2k to reassure myself that Boston was just one of those days, but that's about all the erging I've done. It's all swimming for me at the moment which is pretty cool considering it's 80 outside... :wink:

j.d - When you say chat I assume you mean about getting you back to your top form. Physically there are few that can match your power and talent but you have to be sm,arter about the way you train.
The Bleep test should be your warning sign.....unless you are talking about beer and loose women, MORE IS NOT BETTER.

I will keep you posted as to the travel plans. I am actually going to Brussels on the 5th through the 8th and what I've requested to do is tac on a week or so and fly over to the UK to visit family etc so the MAD team thing would be a nice way to end the holiday. The jury is out here at work so I will have to wait to see if they approve my holiday request.
I hope this trip comes off but if it doesn't I am almost certain that I will be at BIRC this year to show off my tan.

The venue for the event is a 10 min drive but I'd come and get you. The venue for the evening debauchery is right next to the ferry port so very convenient. The intention of the MAD Team has always been to keep trying to break records and to keep raising money for charity.

So, time for us to have another go. On 16th April, the MAD Team (pretty much in its entirity) will be descending upon David Lloyd's in Portsmouth. The day is a great opportunity for us all to get together and enjoy each others company, but we are also looking to raise money for a worthy cause once again. The charity we are supporting this time is Cancer Research. Cancer is a disease that has or will affect each and every one of us at some time in our lives - some have already lost loved ones, some people will in the future and some people may be affected personally. We all feel very strongly that this is such a worthy charity and one that we are keen to support as strongly as possible. I hope that you feel the same.

But the day is not just about enjoying each others company, there is work to be done and we are going to have a bash at a few records - 4 in 1 day to be precise. Firstly, we are going to attempt to break the men's, women's and mixed 4 person marathon records. And in addition to this, we will be looking to create and set the new 50k relay record. The relay team will be a real mixed bag of MADers including lwts and even maybe some girlies so we are hoping to have some fun setting a standard that will encourage some other teams to stage their own attempts in the future ... possibly at the Coleshill event in the summer. But remember, each of these attempts still represents between 2 and 3 hours rowing for everyone concerned so are worthy of your support.
