Concept2 News and Blog
It's been a fairly interesting week with regards to the trek! As my kit list was sent through the post, I am now the proud owner to most of the Arctic clothing I'll need (pictured in my last blog I think)- thermals, jumpers, fleeces, scarves to cover my face and a rather large fluffy hat which I must admit will probably be worn on a day to day basis as well. All that's really left for me to get ar… Read full post

I've never been a particularly 'sporty' or athletic person, having spent my school days doing everything possible to avoid P.E. and the following years staying away from anything that seemed remotely like it could involve exercise. That is, until last September. Last year I noticed an advert in the paper by The British Red Cross, asking for volunteers to complete a trek to raise sponsorship for th… Read full post

On Monday Anita did the 1st and 3rd intervals with really nice control (2:21.5, 2:22.1) and her 2nd interval was a quick 2:16.3. I went 1:57.5, 1:58.5 and 1:59.5 with… Read full post
Well, this has been quite a week of milestones, that's for sure. Following a 10 Km row on Monday morning, and a 10 Km run in the afternoon, I had just 10 Km remaining in order to complete my first challenge of 2100 Kms in 105 days.
Tuesday morning arrived, and as normal, I made my way to the gym on what was a cold, but dry six am. With so much distance behind me, I just wanted to finish so it w… Read full post
